Assam: Tiger attacks two in Golaghat’s Upper Langtha village
Panic gripped Upper Langtha village under Barpathar in Assam’s Golaghat district after a tiger attacked two villagers on February 23.
The injured have been identified as Paresh Buragohain and Debananda Buragohain of Upper Langtha village. Both sustained serious injuries on the face, hands, neck, back and waist.
According to reports, the incident occurred while the two men were plucking berries in a field orchard when the tiger suddenly attacked them.
Villagers immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Barpathar hospital for treatment.
Barpathar Police reached the scene soon after the incident. However, locals have alleged that the Forest Department has not taken adequate steps so far to capture the tiger.
Following the attack, fear has spread across the village, with residents expressing concern over further tiger movement in the area.
