Assam: Trial in Abhi–Neel murder case nears conclusion in Nagaon court
The trial proceedings in the Abhi–Neel murder case are nearing completion, with hearings continuing at the Nagaon district court.
The court held hearings on February 26 and 27 as part of the ongoing trial, indicating that the case is moving towards its final stage.
However, during the proceedings, both the defence counsel and the government prosecutor sought separate dates for further arguments.
Taking note of the requests and showing due regard to the submissions made by the lawyers, the court fixed March 6 and March 13 for the final hearings in the case.
The government prosecutor expressed hope that, following the final hearing scheduled on March 13, the court would be in a position to deliver its verdict, although some additional time may be required for the pronouncement of the judgment.
Meanwhile, the fathers of the two victims, speaking to the media outside the court premises, said they have full faith in the judicial process.
They expressed confidence that the court would deliver exemplary punishment to those found guilty, stating that they continue to look to the judiciary for justice in the case.
