Assam: UPPL rallies support in Gossaigaon’s Srirampur, welcomes over 6,000 new members

Ahead of the 2025 Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) staged a large-scale public rally in Srirampur, Gossaigaon, Assam, on Saturday, August 31. The gathering drew an impressive crowd, with over 6,000 individuals, including notable leaders and workers from rival parties such as the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and Congress, officially joining the UPPL.

The rally was marked by the presence of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Promod Boro, who, along with other central party leaders, underscored the developmental progress achieved in the BTC under UPPL’s leadership over the past four years. The party leaders also highlighted various government schemes and initiatives that have been introduced to spur the region's growth.

New members were ceremoniously welcomed into the UPPL fold with traditional Bodo Aronai and the party flag, symbolizing their commitment to the party's vision for the future of the BTC. The event is seen as a strategic move by the UPPL to consolidate its support base and reinforce its position in the run-up to the crucial BTC elections.
