Residents of Bhomrabil village no. 1 in the Gosaigaon sub-division have taken matters into their own hands by constructing a bamboo bridge after waiting for the BTR government's promise to build a permanent one.
The wooden bridge, which has been in a dilapidated state for 20 years, highlighted the lack of development under the BTR government.
Despite Pramod Boro's alleged promise in 2021 to inspect and construct a permanent bridge, no action has been taken even after three years.
The villagers, facing severe difficulties due to the condition of the bridge, decided to protest by each contributing a bamboo and building the bridge themselves.

They have also threatened to boycott the upcoming BTC elections if their demand for a permanent bridge is not met.
Locals have alleged that over the years, no public representative, including the local MLA, has been complaining that no public representative, including the local MLA, has paid any heed to it.
The villagers protested against the government by collecting one bamboo from each family at their own expense and building a bridge.
