Assam: 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh leaves Dibrugarh jail for Delhi, to take oath today
Amritpal Singh, chief of 'Waris Punjab De' and newly elected MP from Khadoor Sahib, Punjab, is set to be sworn in as a Member of Parliament today. Having contested independently in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Singh secured a decisive victory over Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira, capturing the parliamentary seat with a commanding margin of 1,97,120 votes.
Singh, who was incarcerated as a radical Sikh preacher and held in Dibrugarh jail, has been transferred to Delhi for his parliamentary swearing-in ceremony.
