According to the veterinarians, the cause of death appears to be diarrhea,” he told the media.
Officials said the elephant died despite attempts to administer treatment on-site. The veterinarians and forest staff tried to save the animal but it succumbed during the rescue effort.
The death of the elephant has raised serious questions about wildlife monitoring and protection, especially since forest department teams regularly patrol the area. Conservationists have called for a detailed investigation to determine whether other factors contributed to the death and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
