Assam: Wild elephant found dead in Kamrup district

The carcass of a wild elephant was discovered in Shingra Palahpara area of Kamrup district on August 21. The elephant was reportedly seen roaming the forest in search of food before its lifeless body was found.

Local residents, who were among the first to discover the scene, suspect that the elephant may have succumbed to starvation, given the scarcity of food and suitable habitat in the forest. However, the exact cause of death remains undetermined, and authorities are yet to confirm the reason behind this unfortunate incident.
