In a heartfelt tribute to late musical icon Zubeen Garg, the Pub Mahila Samiti gathered at Shukilarpar, Bajali, on Monday, October 20 to demand justice for the singer, one month after his untimely demise.

As a mark of respect, the members conducted a tree-planting ceremony on the riverbank, symbolizing growth, hope, and remembrance. Despite the passage of a month, the heartthrob singer’s family and fans are yet to see justice delivered, prompting continued calls for accountability.

“We have faith and trust in the Chief Minister that justice will be served for Zubeen Garg,” the members said, expressing their confidence in the state leadership.

Throughout the day, women from the community engaged in various programs and remembrance activities, keeping the memory of the singer alive. In the evening, during the Mayabini program, participants sang songs and repeatedly chanted “Justice for Zubeen Garg”, highlighting the community’s ongoing demand for clarity and accountability in the case.

Adding to the emotional atmosphere, a young girl performed one of Zubeen’s songs, reflecting the singer’s lasting influence on the younger generation and his enduring legacy in Assam’s cultural landscape.
