A special women’s interaction programme with Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro was organised at the Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma Auditorium, Bodoland University, on July 26 evening.

During the programme, Pramod Boro interacted with women participants, responding to questions raised by young women and eminent intellectuals of the region on various issues.

In her welcome address, UPPL Women’s Wing President Pratibha Brahma stressed the importance of allocating budgetary resources for women’s development, particularly in the fields of education, skill enhancement, and livelihood, stating that such investment strengthens the economy.

“It is observed that in nations or states where governance allocates budgetary resources for women’s development—especially in the sectors of education, skill development, and livelihood—the expenditure contributes to making the economy healthier, she said.

The event placed special emphasis on the mission to empower women in BTR across social, cultural, economic, and political spheres.
