Assam: Young man gunned down near temple in Rangapara, police probe underway

Residents of Rangapara colony tea estate, Assam were disrupted by sounds of gunshots, after a young man was shot dead, late Thursday (April 12) night. The incident occurred near the Joy Guru Temple, where an unidentified assailant opened fire on the victim and fled the scene.

 

The deceased has been identified as David Changa, a resident of the Hospital Line area within the tea estate. According to reports, the shooting occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m.

 

A local woman, who lives near the site of the incident, claimed to have heard gunshots during the night. Responding swiftly, the Rangapara Police reached the scene and recovered an empty cartridge, which is believed to be linked to the weapon used in the attack.

 

Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the murder. David Changa’s body was sent for post-mortem examination, and police are currently examining all angles, including possible motives and suspects involved in the heinous crime.
