Assam: Youth held for allegedly assaulting two female students inside school premises in Abhayapuri

Tension gripped Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district after a youth allegedly assaulted two minor girl students inside the premises of Ganeshpur Middle English School, sparking outrage among local residents and raising serious concerns over student safety.

The incident occurred at Ganeshpur Middle English School located in the Lalmati-Ganeshpur area of Abhayapuri. According to initial reports, the accused, identified as Mridul Hussain, allegedly took advantage of the absence of teachers and physically assaulted two students of Classes VIII and VII within the school campus.

As news of the incident spread, residents rushed to the school, reportedly confined the accused within the premises, and informed the Abhayapuri police.

A police team from Abhayapuri promptly reached the spot and took the accused into custody. He was later brought to the police station for further questioning and legal action.
