Assam’s animated short film ‘Chyimi’ earns honourable mention at Athens Marathon Film Awards

Assam’s acclaimed animated short film Chyimi, written and directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, has earned an Honourable Mention in the Best Short Film category at the prestigious Athens Marathon Film Awards, adding yet another international accolade to its growing list of achievements.

 

The recognition marks another milestone in the film’s remarkable journey across the global festival circuit. Earlier, Chyimi won the Best Short Film award at the Jaipur International Film Festival and was also adjudged Best Short Film at the New York Short Animation Festival, bringing international attention to a uniquely crafted work emerging from Assam.

 

A compelling blend of storytelling, emotion and artistic imagination, Chyimi reflects the power of animation in telling deeply human stories that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. The film, conceived, written and directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, has been praised for its originality, visual creativity and emotional depth.
