Assam's Baksa district celebrates 21st Bwisagu festival with cultural fervour at Chowdhuripara

The 21st edition of the Bwisagu Festival was celebrated with vibrant cultural fervor at Chowdhuripara in Baksa district, under the initiative of the Baksa District Committee of the All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU). The one-day celebration featured a range of colorful events and drew enthusiastic participation from all sections of the local community.


A key highlight of the event was the younger generation symbolically honoring and serving the elders, reflecting a deep-rooted respect for cultural values and traditions within the Bodo community.


The festivities saw a joyful atmosphere as locals came together in traditional Bodo attire, showcasing unity and pride in their heritage. The event was graced by the presence of several notable figures including Assam Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Katiram Boro, Councillor Montu Boro, and social activist Jay Musahari.


The Bwisagu festival, a significant celebration in Bodo culture marking the advent of the new year and the onset of spring, was commemorated through music, dance, and community rituals, reinforcing the spirit of cultural identity and togetherness.
