            <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>Assam will soon witness the inauguration of the Northeast’s first highway-based emergency landing strip, announced Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. </p>

<p>The facility, located on the Dibrugarh-Moran stretch of the National Highway, is expected to be inaugurated in February.</p>

<p>Addressing a programme in Khowang, Sarma noted that the Centre may organize a high-profile launch, with either the Prime Minister or the Defence Minister likely to attend.</p>

<p>Developed over a 4.2-km stretch in Moran, the advanced landing strip is designed to accommodate both civilian aircraft and Indian Air Force fighter jets, including Sukhoi and Rafale aircraft. </p>

<p>The facility will also act as an emergency alternative landing option for Dibrugarh airport, enhancing strategic and civil aviation readiness in the region.<br>
