Assam's Kokrajhar celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm, along with various parts of the country. A central event was organised by the district administration at the Kokrajhar Government Higher Secondary and Multipurpose Ground.
The celebration commenced at 9 am with the hoisting of the national flag by Bodoland Territorial Council (BTR) CEM Pramod Boro marking the occasion with pride and patriotism.
Following the flag hoisting, a grand parade and guard of honour were conducted by the Assam police force, NCC cadets and students from various schools showcasing discipline and dedication while honoring the national flag.
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent dignitaries including BTC Legislative Assembly Speaker Katiram Boro, local MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR Executive Members Ranjit Basumatary and Wilson Hasda, MCLA Madhav Chetry, BTC Principal Secretary Akash Deep, District Commissioner Masanda Partin, District Superintendent of Police and other distinguished guests.
The day was marked with cultural performances and patriotic activities by the students reflecting the unity and diversity of the nation.
The celebration served as a reminder of the sacrifices made for the country’s independence and the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
