Assam's Sivasagar district secures second position with 84.08% pass rate in HSLC 2026
Assam's Sivasagar district has achieved a significant academic milestone by securing the second position statewide in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, registering an impressive pass percentage of 84.08 per cent.
According to official data, a total of 8,726 candidates appeared for the examination across 32 educational centres in the district. Of these, 7,337 students successfully passed the examination.
Division-wise, 3,006 candidates secured First Division, 3,539 candidates achieved Second Division, and 792 candidates passed in the Third Division.
The district has shown notable improvement compared to the previous year. In HSLC 2025, Sivasagar recorded a pass percentage of 81.24 per cent, indicating a positive upward trend in academic performance.
Sharing the details during a press address, AES-I Dr. Samiron Bora announced the district’s achievement and highlighted the improvement in results. He attributed the success to the collective efforts of students, teachers, and the education department, emphasizing the continuous initiatives taken to enhance the quality of education in the district.
“This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our students and educators. The improvement in the pass percentage compared to last year is encouraging and motivates us to strive for even better results in the future,” Dr. Bora stated.
The strong performance of Sivasagar further underscores the district’s commitment to educational excellence and its growing reputation as one of the top-performing regions in the state.
