Assam's Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi warns District Commissioner over alleged lapses in flood relief

Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi expressed strong displeasure over alleged negligence in the distribution of government relief to flood-affected people in the district.

Gogoi directed sharp remarks at the Sivasagar District Commissioner, demanding that flood-affected residents receive their financial assistance before officials leave the area.

He said, “You may leave from here, but you will have to give my people the money. You cannot run this place by simply following ministers around.”

The MLA urged the district administration to ensure that flood-affected people receive government assistance on time and warned that any negligence in the distribution of relief would not be tolerated.

Gogoi has recently been vocal against the district administration and the state government over the alleged delay and lapses in providing assistance to flood-affected people in Sivasagar.
