Assam's Tinsukia residents raise concern over open urination near school, mirrors installed to curb nuisance

Residents and students of Budding Buds Senior Secondary School on D.M. Lohia Road in Assam's Tinsukia have reportedly been facing serious inconvenience due to incidents of open urination in a nearby lane for a prolonged period.

According to local students and residents, the unhygienic condition and foul smell had made the area extremely uncomfortable, particularly for female students and women passing through the lane. Several locals alleged that many people were forced to cover their faces while crossing the stretch because of the unpleasant environment.

In an attempt to address the issue, the Tinsukia Municipal Board recently installed two mirrors at the location. Residents claim the move has led to some improvement, as mirrors are often used as a psychological deterrent to discourage public urination.

However, locals alleged that despite the initiative, some individuals still continue the act by taking advantage of isolated moments.

Residents have now called for stricter monitoring, better public sanitation awareness, and stronger civic enforcement to permanently resolve the issue and maintain cleanliness around the school area.Tinsukia residents raise concern over open urination near school, mirrors installed to curb nuisance
