Around 500 leaders and workers from the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joined the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) during a grand joining ceremony held at Kokrajhar's Pragati Bhawan, on June 5.

The mass joining was led by former senior BJP leader Bablu Sharma, who along with hundreds of grassroots workers and local leaders, pledged support to the UPPL. The event marks a major boost for the ruling party in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

The ceremony was graced by several prominent leaders, including BTR Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, Member of Parliament Joyanta Basumatary, MLA Lawrence Islary, and UPPL Central General Secretary MCLA Madhab Chetry. Other senior party members and supporters were also present to welcome the new members.

Speaking on the occasion, BTR Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro said, “People from all walks of life are embracing the UPPL because they have witnessed the development, peace, and good governance brought under our leadership. This mass joining is a testament to the people’s trust in our vision for the BTR region.”

The UPPL leadership expressed confidence that the addition of new members would strengthen the party’s grassroots network and further accelerate the pace of development and harmony in the region.
