Assan: Daylight robbery at jewellery shop, gold and cash worth over Rs 10 lakh looted
A sensational daylight robbery was reported from Rajgarh in Tingkhong on October 5, with two motorcycle-borne men allegedly snatching a bag containing cash and jewellery from the owner of a jewellery shop.
The incident took place outside Sri Santoshi Jewellers when owner Shivshankar Shah was about to open the shop.
According to the owner, the two men, who were wearing helmets and had their faces covered, approached him on a motorcycle and snatched the bag from his hands before fleeing.
The bag reportedly contained around Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 in cash, gold jewellery valued at more than Rs 10 lakh, the keys to the shop's locker and important account books.
Shah reportedly raised an alarm and chased the robbers, but the duo managed to escape.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed near the jewellery shop.
The victim has lodged a complaint at the Rajgarh police outpost, following which police have launched an investigation to identify and trace the accused.
