Awareness camp in Margherita marks day to end violence against women

An awareness camp marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women was organised on 25 November 2025 in Margherita, Assam. The programme was held under the initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society, Margherita Sub-Divisional Branch, in collaboration with the Internal Complaint Committee of Margherita College.

To highlight the significance of the day, the organisers conducted an adolescent girl’s health awareness session along with a discussion circle on violence and oppression faced by women.

Pabitra Borgohain, Secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society, Margherita Sub-Divisional Branch, outlined the aims and objectives of the initiative. The event was attended by more than two hundred women and students.
