Bhutan condemns Pahalgam terror attack, expresses solidarity with India

The Bhutan India Friendship Association (BIFA) has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which resulted in the death of innocent Indian tourists.

 

Speaking to the media in Kokrajhar, BIFA Secretary General Dawa Penjor expressed deep sorrow over the brutal incident, stating, "India is the land of non-violence, as taught by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Such acts of violence have no place in society."

 

Penjor conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people and the government of Bhutan to the families of the victims. He criticized the attack, allegedly carried out by Pakistan-based terrorists, and emphasized Bhutan’s firm stance against terrorism.

 

"As Bhutanese citizens, we cannot accept such brutal acts against civilians. Bhutan stands firmly for peace and harmony and hopes for a world free of violence," he added.

 

The BIFA Secretary General also reiterated Bhutan’s commitment to promoting peace and strengthening the longstanding friendship between Bhutan and India.
