Bishnupriya Manipuri community perform Raas dance at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj

The Bishnupriya Manipuri community showcased their traditional Raas dance at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, marking a proud moment for Assam and the community.

The performance, organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of the Assam Government, first took place on February 1. However, due to high demand and special requests from saints and sages, the artists performed again on February 3 at Sector 7 of the Maha Kumbh venue.

Assam Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah attended the event as the state’s representative, further strengthening Assam’s cultural presence at the grand religious gathering.

Community leaders expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stating that performing at such a prestigious event was a matter of pride for the Bishnupriya Manipuri community and Assam as a whole.
