BJP candidate Kushal Duwari intensifies campaign in Assam's Sivasagar, targets Akhil Gogoi
BJP candidate Kushal Duwari has intensified his election campaign in the Sivasagar Assembly constituency, holding multiple meetings across the town as campaigning gathers pace ahead of the polls.
Duwari’s first election meeting was held at Radhika Shanti Path in Sivasagar town, where he expressed confidence of victory in the upcoming election. He said both he and AGP leader Pradip Hazarika are carrying out independent campaigning in their respective constituencies.
Targeting Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi, Duwari said the opposition leader is no longer influential in the constituency. “No one listens to Akhil Gogoi anymore. If he speaks to 10 people, 100 people are joining my side from Raijor Dal,” he claimed.
He further said that Gogoi does not pose a political challenge in Sivasagar, adding that the real issues of the constituency remain his primary focus. Duwari also asserted that Gogoi would face defeat in the upcoming election.
As part of his campaign programme, the BJP candidate is scheduled to attend 10 election meetings across all wards of Sivasagar town in a single day.
Responding to criticism, Duwari said, “Akhil Gogoi does not need to introduce me. The people of Sivasagar know me very well. He is trying to win elections by calling me a murderer, but people know the truth.”
