BJP launches two-day mega training campaign in Assam's Sivasagar to strengthen party organisation

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on July 14 launched a two-day Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Mega Training Campaign at Milan Mandir in Sivasagar as part of its organisational strengthening drive following the party's return to power in Assam for a third consecutive term.

The inaugural session was attended by Assam Water Resources Minister and Dimow MLA Susanta Borgohain, who formally inaugurated the programme by garlanding the portrait of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, lighting the ceremonial lamp and opening an exhibition at the venue.

Addressing party workers, Borgohain said the training programme would inspire BJP cadres to serve both the nation and the party with greater commitment while equipping them to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.

The minister also said the BJP has already begun preparations for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, stressing the need to further consolidate the party's organisational structure in the coming years.

Commenting on women's reservation, Borgohain alleged that the implementation of constituency delimitation had been delayed because the Congress did not support the 33 per cent reservation for women.

On the flood situation, the minister claimed that proactive measures taken by the present government had helped minimise flooding in downstream areas despite substantial water releases by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).

The inaugural programme was also attended by former Chief Executive Member of the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council Dipuranjan Makar, BJP State Secretary Lakhya Konwar, Assam Tea Corporation Chairman Shiv Prasad Bhadra, and several other party leaders and office-bearers.
