BJP national spokesperson calls Rahul Gandhi, Gaurav Gogoi ‘Anti-India’ leaders at Tezpur press meet

Pradeep Bhandari on February 18 launched a sharp attack on senior Congress leaders, describing Rahul Gandhi and Gaurav Gogoi as “anti-India leaders” and alleging that the Congress is an “anti-India party.”

Addressing a press conference organised by the Tezpur district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tezpur, Bhandari referred to allocations made in the Union Budget towards the defence sector, including provisions for bulletproof jackets and Rafale fighter jets, and cited major infrastructure projects such as the Bogibeel Bridge, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Setu and Bhupen Hazarika Setu.

He said the recent Union Budget has been prepared with the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” aiming for a corruption-free governance model, a secure Assam and Northeast, and greater emphasis on women’s empowerment.

During the press meet, Bhandari also raised questions regarding alleged links between Gogoi’s wife and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Ministry, asking what relationship existed and demanding clarification. He further questioned why Gogoi had not been arrested, alleging links to Pakistani agents, and asked what action the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister were taking in the matter.

Responding to queries, Bhandari said that concerned agencies would take appropriate legal action and urged people to wait for official developments.

The remarks come amid intensifying political exchanges between the BJP and Congress ahead of key electoral contests in Assam.
