BJP stages protest against Congress in Assam's Dhubri over controversial comments against PM Modi’s late mother

The Dhubri district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a massive protest on Monday, September 1 condemning Congress and INDIA alliance leaders for allegedly using indecent language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother.


Led by district president Ranjit Kumar Roy, hundreds of BJP leaders and workers gheraoed the Dhubri Rajiv Bhavan, raising slogans against the Congress leadership. The party accused Congress of resorting to derogatory remarks that hurt public sentiment and political decorum.


Earlier in the day, BJP leaders and supporters assembled at Panchmore in Dhubri town and held a protest meeting, voicing anger over the alleged insult. Following the gathering, they took out a rally from Panchmore, which concluded at Rajiv Bhavan.


At the protest site, BJP leaders launched a scathing attack on Congress, holding the leadership responsible for the controversial remarks. They particularly condemned senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of setting a negative tone in political discourse.


The Dhubri BJP declared that such demonstrations would continue if opposition leaders failed to maintain political ethics and refrain from making derogatory personal remarks.
