BJP steps up preparations for Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll, MLA claims 2-lakh victory margin
The BJP has stepped up its preparations for the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, with party MLA Jitu Goswami inaugurating the party’s main election office at Juria in Rupohihat.
Goswami, the MLA from Barhampur, said the Nagaon bypoll would be markedly different from the 2024 Lok Sabha election and claimed that the BJP is now witnessing a shift in support among minority voters.
“The minority people have understood this time,” Goswami said, asserting that the political scenario in the constituency has changed since the last Lok Sabha election.
The BJP MLA further claimed that the party’s candidate would win the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election by a margin of 2 lakh votes.
The inauguration of the election office at Juria marks the beginning of the BJP’s organisational push in the constituency, with the party expected to intensify its grassroots campaign in the run-up to the bypoll.
The Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, which has a significant minority population, is expected to witness a keenly contested electoral battle, with both the BJP and Congress gearing up to consolidate their respective support bases.
