Speaking at a gathering in Puthimari, Bajali, Congress leader and political advisor to Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Bora, Pradyut Bora made scathing remarks against the BJP and expressed confidence in the Congress’s performance in the upcoming Panchayat elections.
“Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is no longer the people’s favourite,” Bora stated, accusing the BJP of resorting to "unethical practices" ahead of the rural polls.
Despite the BJP’s tactics, Bora said he believes the Congress will deliver a strong performance. “The BJP has only given promises to the people, but how much work have they really done?” he questioned.
“The public has endured enough hardship under BJP rule. They will give a fitting reply in the Panchayat elections,” he added.

He asserted that the people will decide the BJP’s farewell date. “Whenever the people choose, the BJP will be shown the door.”
Commenting on opposition unity, Bora said, “All major opposition parties have come together in unity—except one. No one else has raised any objection.”
Taking a jab at those trying to dismiss the united opposition, he said, “Some parties are claiming there’s no unity among opposition forces, but the facts suggest otherwise.”
Pradyut Bora’s remarks come amid rising political temperatures ahead of the Panchayat elections in Assam.
