Black bear sighted in Rani Reserve Forest, reflects Assam’s wildlife conservation: CM Sarma
A black bear has been spotted roaming freely in its natural habitat at the Rani Reserve Forest in Kamrup district, highlighting the success of wildlife conservation efforts in the state, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Saturday, March 7.
The sighting was captured on camera by journalist Jon Rabha. The Chief Minister later shared the video on X.
“In Assam, every species thrives. In Rani Reserve Forest, a black bear was spotted recently in a non-captive environment, signifying the robustness of our wildlife conservation efforts,” Sarma said in his post.
The sighting in the reserve forest reflects the state government’s continued focus on protecting wildlife habitats and maintaining biodiversity across Assam.
