Bodoland People’s Front holds ‘Dispur Chalo Yatra’ at Kokrajhar
The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) organised its ‘Dispur Chalo Yatra’ at the Janagaon playground in Kokrajhar on March 1, as part of its preparations for the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly elections.
The yatra, which began on February 25, is being conducted across various constituencies to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. Party leaders and workers gathered in large numbers, reaffirming their commitment to consolidate support ahead of the polls.
Addressing the gathering, BPF president and Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Hagrama Mohilary, said the party is determined to ensure victory in all 15 Assembly seats under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) as part of the NDA alliance. He stated that although seat-sharing arrangements within the NDA, including with the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) and other allies, are yet to be finalised, the ultimate objective is to secure all 15 seats in the region.
“We are confident that the people of the Bodoland Territorial Region will once again bless the Bodoland People’s Front. Our aim is clear to win all 15 Assembly seats in BTR under the NDA alliance. We will work unitedly and take everyone along for the development of the region,” Mohilary said.
The programme also coincided with Mohilary’s 57th birthday and was marked by a cake-cutting ceremony on the public stage, where he sought blessings and continued support from the people.
