Bodoland People's Front releases Assam poll manifesto, backs NDA rule
The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) on Monday, March 30, unveiled its election manifesto for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections during a campaign rally at Kashiyabari under the Gossaigaon constituency.
The manifesto was released by BPF president Hagrama Mohilary, who expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would form the next government in Assam under the leadership of the BJP. He also asserted that NDA candidates would win all 15 seats in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTC).
Addressing party workers and supporters, Mohilary said the manifesto focuses on inclusive development for all communities. He stated that no eviction drives would be carried out within BTC, adding that such actions would take place outside the region.
The BPF leader also voiced support for granting Scheduled Tribe status to Koch-Rajbongshi and Adivasi communities. Launching a sharp political attack, he claimed that the UPPL would be reduced to zero in BTC.
Reaffirming his support for the BJP-led alliance, Mohilary expressed confidence that Himanta Biswa Sarma would return as the Chief Minister of Assam as election campaigning intensifies across the state.
