Body wrapped in polythene found in Assam's Sribhumi, murder suspected

A wave of panic spread across Tulakona village under Anandapur Gaon Panchayat in Ramkrishnanagar area of Sribhumi district of Assam after residents discovered a dead body tightly wrapped in polythene on Friday, November 28.


The deceased has been identified as Sharif Uddin Laskar, hailing from Sinalal village. Locals immediately alerted police upon spotting the suspiciously wrapped body. A police team promptly reached the site and moved the deceased to Sribhumi Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.


While the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, the circumstances have led to strong suspicion of murder. Family members of the deceased allege that Sharif Uddin was killed and later dumped at the location in an attempt to conceal the crime.


Police have launched a thorough investigation and are examining all possible angles. Authorities have assured that the mystery surrounding the case will be unraveled once the forensic and post-mortem reports are received.
