<p>The deceased has been identified as Manab Jyoti Das of Nabeti, while the injured person has been identified as Dadul Kakati.</p>

<p>According to preliminary reports, the two youths were returning towards Morigaon on bicycles after completing their Bol Bom pilgrimage from Nijarapaar in Jagiroad. The accident occurred at around 4:30 pm when they reached Malputa.</p>

<p>A truck allegedly travelling behind the cyclists rammed into them, leaving both riders seriously injured. The truck driver reportedly fled the spot immediately after the accident.</p>

<p>Local residents later rescued the two cyclists and found Manab Jyoti Das dead, while Dadul Kakati was found injured. The injured youth was subsequently rushed to a hospital for treatment.</p>

<p>The truck allegedly involved in the accident bears registration number AS 01 NC 8626. Further details regarding the circumstances of the accident and the whereabouts of the driver are awaited.</p>
