After Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary announced the first list of candidates for the upcoming BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) elections, party workers in Mathanguri under Baksa district erupted in joy and celebration.
The announcement of Begum Akhtara Ahmed as the official BPF candidate from the Mathanguri constituency has energised the local party base. Supporters raised slogans of “Hagrama Mohilary Zindabad” and gathered in numbers to express their support.
Begum Akhtara Ahmed, visibly elated after receiving the party's nomination, stated that she will approach the public with a commitment to work for the holistic development of the constituency.

Seeking the support and cooperation of the people, she urged voters to cast their ballots in favour of the plough symbol, the official election symbol of the BPF.
She also made a significant remark regarding Assam Chief Minister’s recent campaigning in the Mathanguri constituency, hinting at the importance of the area in the upcoming elections.
As political activities intensify, Mathanguri is emerging as a key battleground, with BPF banking on its grassroots strength and local leadership to reclaim influence.
