The two-day Budget Session of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) for the financial year 2025–2026 concluded today with the House approving a normal estimated budget of Rs. 843 crore.
The budget was presented on Tuesday by the Chief Executive Member and Finance In-charge of BTC, Pramod Boro.
In addition to the normal budget, the council will also benefit from a special allocation under the State-Owned Priority Development (SOPD) scheme.
Presenting the budget under the theme ‘Vibrant BTR Mission: Sangharsh to Nirman 2025–26’, Boro emphasised a people-centric approach focused on need-based asset creation and effective implementation of schemes and projects.

"This year’s budget reflects our vision for a Vibrant BTR Mission, grounded in comprehensive planning to promote sustainable development, good governance, and social harmony," Boro stated during his address.
Despite the optimistic vision laid out by the ruling council, the Opposition voiced their dissatisfaction, claiming the budget failed to adequately address core issues related to public welfare and daily concerns of the people.
The session concluded with general discussions and approval of the budget, setting the roadmap for the council’s development initiatives in the coming fiscal year.
