BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary reviews Assam's Baksa development projects, stresses timely completion and quality execution
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary on July 1 chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Mushalpur to assess the progress of various development schemes and infrastructure projects being implemented across Baksa district.
Held at the Cultural Complex in Mushalpur, the meeting reviewed the performance of key departments, including the Public Works Department (Roads and Buildings), Panchayat and Rural Development, and the Municipal Board (Urban Development). The implementation of projects under the 15th Finance Commission and the 6th State Finance Commission was also examined.
The review covered the progress of several flagship Central and State government schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), MGNREGA, Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), Asom Mala, and various urban development initiatives.
Expressing satisfaction with the overall pace of development, Mohilary stressed the need for timely completion, quality execution and effective monitoring of all ongoing projects to ensure that the benefits reach the people.
He directed all MLAs and MCLAs to undertake regular field visits to monitor the implementation of development works and announced that he would personally inspect project sites to assess the quality and progress of the projects.
The BTC Chief also said such review meetings would be held regularly to strengthen accountability, expedite project implementation and address bottlenecks promptly. He urged officials to work with dedication, responsibility and coordination to strengthen infrastructure and fulfil the aspirations of the people in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Thaneswar Basumatary and Maneswar Brahma, Executive Members Begum Aktara and Augustus Tigga, BTC Secretary-cum-Baksa District In-charge Manas Das, DRDA Project Director Baharul Islam, and senior officials from the concerned departments.
