BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary visits flood-hit Assam's Sivasagar, distributes relief materials
BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary on August 6 visited flood-affected areas of Sivasagar district with a 104-member relief team and distributed essential relief materials to families affected by the devastating floods.
Mohilary was accompanied by Assam MLA Arup Kumar Dey during the visit, while Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi received the delegation and accompanied them to the affected areas.
The BTC team brought thousands of bedsheets, mosquito nets, hygiene kits and other essential relief materials for flood-hit families. Relief distribution was carried out in areas where prolonged flooding has severely disrupted normal life.
Expressing gratitude, Akhil Gogoi said the people of Sivasagar were thankful to the BTC Chief and his team for travelling all the way from Kokrajhar to personally deliver relief materials.
"We are grateful and thankful to Hagrama Mohilary and the entire team. They have brought bedsheets, mosquito nets, essential hygiene products and other relief items for the flood victims. As Sivasagar town remains completely submerged, this assistance will greatly benefit the affected people," Gogoi said.
He also appreciated the BTC team's gesture of personally visiting the flood-affected areas instead of merely sending relief supplies, calling it a significant show of solidarity during the ongoing disaster.
