Caught on Camera: Ornaments, donation box stolen from Kokrajhar's Ramakrishna Sevashram

In the quiet of the night, an audacious theft shook the tranquility of Ramakrishna Sevashram in Gosaigaon Sadar Town, Kokrajhar district. According to CCTV footage obtained from the temple premises, three unidentified thieves brazenly trespassed by scaling the temple wall. Once inside, they swiftly bypassed the security measures by cutting the locks securing the main temple entrance.

Clad in black attire with their faces concealed, the perpetrators targeted sacred artifacts and cash offerings dedicated to Maa Kali. Among the stolen items were Maa Kali's necklace, the nakar nath, tikli, and the contents of the donation box.

The incident came to light when a member of the temple staff discovered the breach and promptly alerted the management committee of Ramakrishna Sevashram. In response, committee officials swiftly arrived at the scene and promptly notified local law enforcement.

Upon receiving the distress call, a team from Gosaigaon Sadar police station, led by Station In-Charge Nidul Gogoi, promptly responded. Upon arrival, they assessed the situation and initiated an investigation into the theft.

Notably, the thieves made away with the cash from the donation bhanddar but left the container behind within the temple premises, indicating a targeted attempt to pilfer monetary offerings.

Authorities are currently combing through available evidence and analyzing the CCTV footage in hopes of identifying the culprits and recovering the stolen items. Meanwhile, the management committee of Ramakrishna Sevashram is urging anyone with information regarding the theft to come forward and assist in the investigation.
