Caught on CCTV: Speeding dumper crushes 21-year-old student to death in Dibrugarh
A 21-year-old woman was killed after a speeding dumper allegedly ran over her while she was cycling in Dibrugarh town on Friday evening, July 17.
The tragic accident took place around 6 pm at Chiring Chapori when the dumper, bearing registration number AS06AC 8859, allegedly hit the cyclist. The rear wheel of the heavy vehicle reportedly ran over the victim's head, killing her on the spot.
The deceased, a resident of Margherita, was pursuing her studies in Dibrugarh and was staying at a hostel in the town.
According to local sources, the woman was cycling through the Chiring Chapori area when the speeding dumper struck her, leading to the fatal accident.
The incident triggered panic and outrage among local residents, who demanded stricter enforcement against reckless driving by heavy vehicles operating within the city.
Police reached the spot soon after the accident, recovered the body and launched an investigation.
