Congress’ Aminur Rashid files from South Karimganj, BJP’s Krishnendu Paul enters Patharkandi fray with show of strength
Congress candidate Aminur Rashid Choudhury filed his nomination papers for the South Karimganj constituency at the District Commissioner’s office on March 23.
Speaking to reporters after submitting his papers, he said the people would decide the outcome of the election. Questioning the state government’s approach towards the Barak Valley, he alleged hostility and said that on April 9, the voters of South Karimganj would give their verdict.
Meanwhile, BJP candidate and Minister Krishnendu Paul filed his nomination papers from the Patharkandi constituency amid a massive rally.
He was accompanied by former Rajya Sabha MP Mission Ranjan Das, Development Board Chairman Biswarup Bhattacharjee, along with district-level party leaders and workers. Addressing supporters, the minister thanked the Chief Minister and expressed confidence in the party’s performance in the constituency.
With both candidates formally entering the fray, electoral activity has picked up momentum in Sribhumi district.
