In a significant development ahead of the third phase of elections, tribal party organizations convened today at the Boropha Cultural Project in Chandamari, Kokrajhar City.
What about the rehabilitation? Who will do it? Congress or Hagrama Mahilari? You should be careful around the people who are looting people as a BPF or Congress leader. They are the villain of our society and they are confident that they are carrying votes in their pockets. If you are carrying the votes in your pocket, then you should play the election for MLA and MP seats", says Assam minister Ashok Singhal.
The meeting, attended by Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal, underscored the pivotal role of the tribal community in determining the electoral outcome in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Singhal emphasized the imperative of prioritizing development-oriented politics over divisive tactics. He cautioned against being swayed by individuals exploiting the electorate for personal gain, particularly highlighting the BPF and Congress leaders accused of such practices.
Singhal reiterated his stance on rehabilitation efforts, questioning whether the responsibility lies with the Congress or Hagrama Mahilari, urging clarity on this critical issue.
Central to the meeting was the endorsement of BJP-UPPL candidate Jayant Basumatary by tribal party organizations. Singhal expressed confidence in Basumatary's ability to champion the interests of the tribal community and drive development initiatives in the region.
Highlighting the prevailing atmosphere of peace in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Singhal attributed this achievement to the collective efforts of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Chief Minister, and the Pramod Boro-led government. He hailed their support as instrumental in fostering stability and progress in the region.
The meeting concluded with a call for unity among tribal parties and a resounding endorsement of Basumatary's candidacy. As the political landscape in Kokrajhar intensifies, the tribal community emerges as a decisive force poised to shape the electoral outcome.
