Congress-BJP workers clash at Assam's Samaguri; MLA's review meeting cancelled

Tension prevailed outside the Garajan Development Block office in Assam's Nagaon district on Saturday following a clash between Congress and BJP workers ahead of a review meeting scheduled to be attended by Samaguri MLA Tanzil Hussain.

According to local reports, the situation turned volatile after former Congress leader Nurul Amin Choudhury arrived at the venue.

BJP workers allegedly objected to remarks made by Choudhury, leading to heated exchanges and a confrontation between supporters of the two parties.

The unrest escalated outside the development block office, forcing authorities to cancel the MLA's scheduled review meeting before it could begin.

Police from Rupahihat Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

No injuries or arrests were immediately reported. Further details are awaited.
