Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on May 4 slammed the Congress party, saying that the public is now questioning what Congress achieved in its 55 years of rule.
He alleged that there is evidence in the hands of the people about how the wealth meant for the poor was looted and misappropriated.
"That is why they are now ashamed to face the public. They no longer have the moral authority to stand before the people, which is why they are running away," Sonowal remarked.
The Union Minister made these comments today while addressing a campaign rally for the upcoming Panchayat elections at Ghilaguri Gomath, under the Abhayapuri constituency in Bongaigaon district. Speaking to reporters after the rally, he reiterated his criticism of the Congress leadership.
