Congress leader Rashid Alvi accuses BJP of exploiting Hindu sentiments for political gain

Congress leader Rashid Alvi criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the BJP, accusing them of using Hindu issues for political advantage.

Reacting to Sarma's recent remarks, Alvi alleged that the BJP is "anti-Hindu" and indifferent to the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh.

“The number of Hindus in Bangladesh is significant, yet the Indian government raises their issues selectively for political benefit,” Alvi stated. “The Assam CM's statement has exposed how BJP and RSS exploit Hindus, using their religious sentiments during elections to gain power. They are unconcerned about the actual problems faced by Hindus in Bangladesh.”

Alvi further emphasized that such rhetoric reflects a pattern of the BJP prioritizing electoral gains over genuine concern for the Hindu community, underscoring his party’s stance against what he termed as "politics of religious instigation."
