Congress MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar hopes Assam budget will address people's long-pending demands

Ahead of the presentation of the Assam State Budget, Congress MLA Jakir Hussain Sikdar expressed hope that the budget would genuinely serve the interests of the people and address the state's long-standing issues.

Speaking to reporters, Sikdar said this is the first budget of the BJP government's current term, while noting that the party has already been in power in Assam for several years and has presented budgets annually during that period.

He alleged that the implementation of projects has often failed to match the announcements made and the funds allocated in previous budgets.

"We hope that this budget will truly be for the people of Assam and serve their interests by addressing the long-standing demands of the state's residents. We are approaching today's budget with a positive outlook and hope it will be a good budget," Sikdar said.
