Congress MP Rakibul Hussain alleges BJP used ‘rigging’ to win Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll
Congress MP Rakibul Hussain and MLA Tanzil Hussain held their first interaction with party workers following the Congress’s defeat in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election.
The meeting took place at Rakibul Hussain’s residence in Amtali, Samaguri, where the leaders discussed the election results and the party’s performance in the constituency.
Hussain alleged that BJP workers had obstructed Congress workers from visiting his residence. He also made serious allegations regarding the conduct of the by-election, claiming that the BJP had won the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat through “rigging”.
The Congress MP further alleged that complaints had been lodged with the Election Commission and the Nagaon district administration while the alleged irregularities were taking place, but no action was taken.
Hussain’s remarks came during his first interaction with Congress workers after the party’s defeat in the by-election. The allegations regarding electoral irregularities and the alleged obstruction of party workers were not independently verified.
