Congress supplies leaders to BJP, no difference between the two: AIUDF leader Aminul Islam
All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) candidate from Rupahihat Assembly constituency, Aminul Islam, on Wednesday, April 1 asserted that the party is witnessing a favourable electoral atmosphere in Assam, particularly in the Middle Assam region, while also stating that there is no difference between Congress and BJP.
Speaking to reporters in Nagaon, Islam said that the AIUDF is confident of securing a significant number of seats in Middle Assam and defeating both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress in the region. He added that the party’s campaign is set to gain further momentum with the scheduled visit of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who is expected to address election rallies in support of AIUDF candidates.
Islam launched a sharp attack on both national parties, alleging that there is little distinction between the Congress and the BJP in Assam’s political landscape. He claimed that the Congress has weakened significantly in the state and accused it of indirectly aiding the BJP by “supplying leaders.”
“There is no difference between Gaurav Gogoi, the Congress and the BJP,” Islam said, adding that the BJP’s influence within the Congress has become apparent to voters. According to him, this perceived overlap has led to a decline in the Congress party’s credibility among the electorate.
The AIUDF leader further maintained that public sentiment in Assam is shifting, with voters increasingly aligning with his party as an alternative to both the BJP and the Congress. He expressed confidence that this shift would translate into electoral gains for AIUDF in the upcoming polls.
