CRPF DG G.P. Singh visits Kokrajhar to honour martyr Praneshwar Koch, assures support to family

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General G.P. Singh on Tuesday visited the home of martyr Praneshwar Koch in Magurmari, Ravapara, Kokrajhar district, to pay tribute and extend support to the bereaved family.

Praneshwar Koch, a valiant jawan of the elite CoBRA regiment, was killed in action on July 16 during an ambush by Naxal extremists in the dense forests of Birhardar, Laghu Pahar, Bokaro district, Jharkhand.

DG Singh offered floral tributes at the martyr’s portrait and met his family members — father Bireshwar Koch, mother Babita Koch, and wife Sabitri Basumatari — conveying condolences and gratitude on behalf of the CRPF.

Participating in a memorial gathering at the residence, Singh assured the family that the CRPF remains steadfast in its commitment to their welfare. He announced that one family member will be offered employment and promised continued assistance.

Speaking to the media, Singh said, “The supreme sacrifice of Praneshwar Koch will never be forgotten. CRPF will always remain ready to assist his family in every possible way.”

He informed that the process of financial assistance is already underway and that the ex-gratia amount will soon be credited to the accounts of the martyr’s father and wife. Singh also reiterated that both the Central and Assam governments will ensure the promised compensation and support are delivered.

On the operational front, the CRPF chief expressed strong confidence in the eventual and complete elimination of the Naxal insurgency from the country.
