Dhubri Medical College student alleges prolonged ragging, forced drug use; investigation launched

A first-semester student at Dhubri Medical College has come forward with accusations of prolonged ragging and forced drug administration, sparking an immediate investigation by college authorities. The student has claimed that fellow students repeatedly injected him with drugs while he slept, with the abuse reportedly spanning several months.

Principal Ankumoni Sakia confirmed that a five-member inquiry committee has been established to investigate the allegations, which were submitted via WhatsApp on Monday, September 2. The committee is expected to present its findings within three days.

"The complaint is not specific, and we are currently investigating it thoroughly," Principal Sakia stated. She also revealed that the student was previously found in possession of intoxicants and is currently the subject of a separate inquiry.

Adding complexity to the situation, the student has been barred from sitting for the Seminar examination due to low attendance. The college has also initiated psychological counselling to assess the student's mental state
